Look, the last thing I'm going to do is try to defend the greats from the early days of Rock n Roll for their sins. Really, between Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and of course Ike Turner, there plenty of sins to go around at that.
But damm those guys could play.
Here's the Ike & Tina Turner Review from 1971 doing just a kick ass live version of River Deep Mountain High.
This is definitely Tina's number here with Ike taking a back seat, which makes sense when you figure that Phil Spector had banned Ike from the studio during the original recording of the song.
