Like everyone else I was not surprised to hear about the death of Amy Winehouse today. She had been on such a clear self-destructive path for so long that today's news seemed almost inevitable.
Neil Young was wrong, it's not better to burn out then to fade away.
My deepest condolences to all of her friends and family.
